Program Objectives
This work will advance best practices for trustworthy and compassionate AI governance in hospital settings in four Canadian provinces: Ontario, Alberta, BC, and Nova Scotia.
Hospitals are the focus of this project due to their central role in Canadian health systems, their capacity to lead, and because they are where principles must translate into practice.
Methods
Semi-structured interviews with system leaders to understand current governance practices and needs.
A scenario-based design lab that brings patients, policymakers, developers, and health system leaders together to collectively map AI systems and identify points for meaningful intervention.
Deliverables
Journal articles, conference presentations, workshops, and a public-facing policy toolkit.
